About This Artwork

In this 40 x 50 cm canvas, emerald green and deep teal clash dramatically against a stark white face. I used a broad flat brush to blend the hair colors, creating visible strokes that flow into the earthy, muted backdrop. There's a faint dark smudge near the right jawline—an unintended trace from my charcoal underdrawing meeting the wet acrylic. The crimson paint outlines the iconic smile and nose, with thick layers that catch the light beautifully on the bridge and forehead. You can see the canvas's rough texture beneath the lighter washes of the jacket. Hand-painted original with texture you'd have to experience in person. I painted this while watching the rain dance against my studio window, reflecting on the masks we wear. This 40 x 50 cm portrait would add a gritty, cinematic focus to a home cinema wall.
